The calling (extended) /// 2026
Frans Snyders / Concert of Birds (1629)

The Calling (Extended) is an eco-acoustic choreographic concert — a creation made for and with city inhabitants — that explores the learning of avian languages and the crafting of ephemeral ecosystems. It unfolds in unconventional, non-designated spaces.

Rooted in sensory inquiry, the piece involves slow walks, sound sampling, and deep listening practices.
It weaves through urban and natural environments, capturing subtle rustlings and the visible and hidden layers of life. Nothing serves as décor — everything becomes material.

The Calling (Extended) offers a poetic, oblique reading of the landscape — an attempt to rewrite the city through what whispers, whistles, and calls within it.
It invites a shared experience — neither a performance nor an installation — but a space of attention, where a gentle friction unfolds between individual perception and shared presence.

The project extends The Calling (created in 2024), continuing its trajectory toward an ecology of listening — one rooted in the body, in place, and in relation.
